地域の皆様に、鷹野橋商店街として
戦後より親しまれている商業地域です。
昭和３７年振興組合法に基づく中国地方初の振興組合として設立し、
平成２４年には法人成り５０周年を迎えました。
広島市中央部以外では唯一、アーケードのある商店街です
鷹野橋商店街は、こうせつ市場・日常生活用品を扱う商店や飲食店を中心に品揃えの良い近隣型で、主婦を中心とした中高年層の女性に支持の高い商店街です。
2019年こうせつ市場は取り壊しとなり、現在隣接する敷地を含めて900坪に対して15階建てマンション二棟が建設中です。
こうせつ内の魚・肉等の販売店が無くなり、何でもそろう商店街とはいえなくなりましたが、来場の皆様に満足していただける商店街にしていくよう、会員の皆で知恵を出し合い、魅力のある町作りを検討中です。
2022年には、マンションも完成し500人以上の住民が増えるということです。
